Terms of use

These terms apply to the uai? app and to this website during the closed beta. By creating your account, you agree to them. We wrote them in plain language on purpose: if anything is unclear, ask us.

This is a translation of the Portuguese version, which prevails if they ever differ.

Who provides uai?

Who can use it

Adults, 18 and over.
People who received an invite. The invite is personal and non-transferable: don't sell, publish or pass it on. A shared invite may be disabled.

What the beta is

A free, invite-only testing phase.
The app works, but it may have bugs, change or go offline while we fix and improve it.

Your account

You sign in with an e-mail and a password.
The account works on up to 3 computers. You can see and disconnect each one in the app's settings.
Your password is personal. Don't share it, and use one you don't use anywhere else.
You can delete your account whenever you want, under Settings > Privacy.

Limits

AI: credits per month per account (Free: 1,000; Pro: 10,000). Each request spends credits according to the size of the text and the answer. During the beta, every account gets the Pro credits.
Translation and currency conversion: unlimited.

Translation and AI can be wrong

Translation is done by a third-party service, Google Translate. The AI features use OpenAI.
Results may contain errors, omissions or misinterpretations.
Don't use a translation or an AI answer as the only basis for important decisions: health, contracts, money or legal matters. Check with a reliable source or a professional.

Conversions are estimates

The rate is the day's rate from the European Central Bank. Taxes on purchases from abroad are approximate. The final amount depends on the store, shipping and the rules in force.

Acceptable use

When using uai?, you may not:

try to get around the AI limit or any other limit;
use the app to extract other people's data;
attack, overload or try to break into the service;
resell access, the invite or the service.

Updates

When a new version is out, the app lets you know. It only downloads and installs the update once you accept.

Intellectual property

The app, the website and the uai? brand belong to Deciban.
The text you select, translate or send to the AI remains yours.

Liability

The beta is free and experimental. To the extent allowed by Brazil's Consumer Protection Code, we are not liable for decisions made solely on the basis of a translation, an AI answer or a conversion, nor for periods when the service is offline. Nothing in these terms removes or reduces your rights as a consumer.

Suspension

If an account or an invite breaks these terms, we may suspend or end its access.

End of the beta

The beta will end someday. When it does, we'll let you know in advance by e-mail. What happens to your data is explained in the privacy policy.

A future paid plan

uai? may get a paid plan (Pro). Nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe.
Before you subscribe, you'll see the price, how renewal works and how to cancel.
You have a 7-day right of withdrawal from the date you subscribe, with a refund (Brazil's Consumer Protection Code, art. 49).

Privacy

How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, we let you know in the app. If the change is relevant, we ask you to accept it again.

Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by Brazilian law. Any dispute is settled in the courts of your place of residence, as guaranteed by the Consumer Protection Code.
