Download uai?
Enter the code from your invite e-mail. No invite yet? Request one here.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”
- That's normal in the beta: the installer doesn't have a paid certificate yet, so Windows doesn't know the publisher.
- Click More info.
- Then click Run anyway.
I installed it. Now what?
uai? opens its welcome screens: it explains what it reads, asks for your consent and creates your account with the same invite code. Then it lives as an icon next to the clock. Just select text in any app.
Shortcuts: Ctrl+Alt+T translates whatever is selected and Ctrl+Alt+H opens the clipboard history.
Your language: the app starts in English and translates into English. You can change “My language” and the currency in Settings.
When a new version comes out, the app lets you know and updates itself.
Installing on macOS (preview)
The Mac version works, but it isn't signed by Apple yet (the certificate comes before launch). That's why macOS blocks the first launch. It's the same app; it just hasn't gone through Apple.
- Open the .dmg and drag uai? to Applications.
- Open uai?. macOS says it couldn't verify the app: click OK.
- Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to “Security” and click Open Anyway. Confirm with your Mac password. (On macOS 14 or earlier: right-click the app → Open.)
- On the same screen, under Accessibility, turn uai? on. That's how it notices what you select.
It lives in the menu bar, near the clock (no Dock icon). Until it's signed by Apple, macOS may ask for Accessibility again after an update: turn uai? off and on again on the same screen.
How do I uninstall it?
Windows: Settings → Apps → uai? → Uninstall. Tick “delete the app data” to leave nothing behind.
macOS: drag uai? from Applications to the Trash.
